passwords... umhh!!

Too many passwords! Is it just me? Or do you find that we need too many passwords to function in this modern world today? I'm sure it must be necessary, but I find it a source of stress. If anyone out there has a suggestion, I'm all ears!!

You can probably tell, I'm stuck on something right now, because I can't remember the password. So I'm a little frustrated, but it seems to happen to me too often, and I just wondered if I not alone. Maybe someone knows something I don't. Well, that's a given, but I'm willing to learn, if you're inclined to share.

Ha! Ha! I had to laugh at this post. My husband had to explain to me that a computer is like a big file cabinet and I was the secretary. He told me to set up a file of passwords. We have a password for everything but can never remember the passwords so the file of passwords we cannot do without. It helps us navigate through our business.

Happy filing! (:

Now that's what I'm talking about! A tip that can actually help me! That you, cherdecor.

Sometimes I think about hiring a computer tutor for a lesson or two, but then I talk myself out of it by telling myself that I learn it by reading a book. You know what happens next, I don't read the book, so there you go. I could figure it out on my own - I should live so long! It takes FOREVER, and is forevermore frustrating. I'm turning my hair gray. Got any more great tips? I'll bet you do.

Oh no, you are not alone! I have the same problem. It would be nice if you could use the same one for everything, but they all have different requirements.
I have a file for mine too.

Not only do they all have different requirements, but some of them have to be changed regularly. Just when I've gotten one in my head, I have to think of another one and try to remember that.

Could it be some kind of a conspiracy to make us all go crazy?!

This is what you do: use the same username and password for everything: just add 0's to the end if you need to adjust the length. I use the same one over and over, for EVERYTHING, and trust me, it works.

Your desk makes me laugh - there are scraps of paper everywhere with passwords on them! No wonder you forget them, I would, too! :)

Hi, Gram! I just discovered your blog! Why didn't you tell me you had one?

I have a written list of all my web sites and passwords in a hidden drawer.

That's funny that you wrote about too many passwords. I have aprox 60 passwords that I have to keep up with for work and personal activities. And the stupid things expire at differing intervals..... Next time I get a computer I am going to get one with a fingerprint scanner...
