Chuckie Cheese
My grandson, Wade, will be three in a few days. He's one of those with a birthday really near to Jesus' birthday, so there is a bit of a time crunch for party planning. This year Wade's party was a few days before his actual birthday. Since three year olds don't have a concept of time anyway, it works out fine. It was a Superman theme party at Chuckie Cheese. I had remembered it as being so loud that I felt stressed the last time I went there, but it really wasn't the way I had remembered, and we all had fun, especially the kids, so that was great. There were cupcakes with Superman rings on top of them, balloons, gift bags filled with goodies for the guests. Wade was in Superman PJ's. His dad, my son, Clark, wore a white T shirt with a stick-on S for Superman and had a red cape, which came from I don't know where. Papa and I, and baby Brooks, were also given stick-on S's to wear on our shirts. As I was leaving, I noticed a little girl as she walked past me, staring at me in awe. Her dad nodded respectfully and said, "Superman Grandma", and passed on by. I had forgotten I was wearing my S emblem on my shirt. It was funny. It was a good party, Wade was happy, and that makes me happy.

Oh, my, I got a good long laugh out of that one. Why do these things only happen to you? "Superman grandma" is right, and that name just might stick.
ha!
Mom! I'm so shocked that you're blogging!! It's so cool!!!!! Welcome to the ranks. I will enjoy reading your take on things and I'll laugh along the way, I'm sure. Can't wait, Superman Grandma, to read the upcoming blogs.
Welcome to blogger land! I came over from a link on Jennifer's blog.
Have a great day Superman Grandma!

Just came over from Jennifer's blog. Welcome to the land of bloggy. Hope you enjoy it as much as the rest of us!
Superman Grandma! That's funny - and you do sound like a great grandmother. Have fun blogging!
Thanks for the warm welcomes! It feels cozy here in bloggyland, like I am among friends. Have a great day everybody. Dad and I are home today, and we are decorating. That should generate a bloggy tale. I'll tell you later what happens..

I've never seen anyone comment in duplicate to their own blog. I'm more impulsive than I am careful, a character quality I am always trying to work on. Already I'm revealing things I would prefer to keep to myself, but I guess that's a risk we blogger's take (I'm counting myself in the ranks of bloggers, now that I've been blogging for what, 15 hours?) Oh well, as I told Jennifer and Jan, don't over expect. As Popeye says on the old cartoons, "I am what I am." And it ain't so bad.
